Hi everyone! My name is Paige and I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 9 and had T1-L2 fused at 13 after hitting a 52 degree curve… I’m 28 now and wI’ll be getting another fusion of L5&S1. I would love to say I’m handling it well but honestly losing any remaining back flexibility I have is devastating… I’m not sure what the new normal will be but I guess I’ll find out!

Hey Paige! thank you so much for joining TBP's community, i'm so glad you're here. I'm so sorry you're having to face another fusion, I can imagine going through this a second time feels daunting. I don't have a lot of experience with low fusions like L5 + S1, but I would think you'd still have a bit of range from L2-L5. The fear of the unknown is so valid though, you're certainly not alone in that. What do you do for work/hobbies, if you don't mind sharing? If there's any way we can support you more, let us know! šŸ’š
