Hi! Thank you for the invite! I’m 48, from Philly, and on April 8th, it will be 35 years since I had my spinal fusion for scoliosis at the age of 13. Most of those years I’ve felt very isolated with my invisible disability and questions that seemed impossible to get answers for and basically just accepted my life as is… and in pain. I had. 75% S curve and started in a Boston Brace for 2 years. Aside from that, I work in Marketing Research, happily married, have 4 cats and a dog, and love going to live music and traveling to
New places for it. I’m also an advocate of Organ Donations after I donated a Kidney to my father in late 2024. Excited to meet many of you in Philly!

Excited to meet you! I’m 37 and this June will be my 20-year fusion-versary! 😱 I relate to the invisible disability part. They told me I was “fixed” and could “do anything” now but I wish they had said “you have a disability and that is perfectly okay.” It would have helped me find ways to accommodate my needs and adapt without pushing myself to perform at the level of people without scoliosis/fusion. And without comparing myself to them.
